Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Fairmont Hotels
MarinWebDesign.com was hired to rebuild the Fairmont's SMI Spa Retail website. The requirements of the project included a fast, secure and reliable ecommerce software solution while mantainng the Fairmont Brand's look and feel. One of the challenges of this project was setting advanced configurations for various shipping modules and internet sales taxes. The store features around 25 spa and bath products.
Working with the team at the Sonoma Mission Inn was great and we are sure to do more work with them if the opportunity presents itself. Upon launch, orders began flooding in and it was really great to see all the hard work pay off for the client. We currently provide on going maintenance, updates and features on the smitretail.com website. Meylan Construction
Meylan Construction has been serving Marin County's commercial construction needs for over 20 years. We were hired by it's founder Joe Meylan to do a revamp on his existing site which was built in 1998. It is really fun to see an old domain like this that has a tremendous amount of trust and authority go from being an all flash site with one page of content (homepage) indexed in google to a nearly 100 page highly ranking site on a broad range of relevant topics. We love tearing down and rebuilding old sites on old domains and truth is we are great at making them dominate local search results. But don't take our word for it, read what our customers are saying about our search engine optimization work. We worked closely with Joe and his team to craft over 50 custom commercial construction related articles for the site. Each page features a well layed out template, relevant images, H1 tags and strong keyword dense articles. This website is a great example of what our advanced website package includes.
Indian Valley Golf Course
The redesign of Indian Valley Golf Club's website was another fun project for our firm. The general manager of the club had a site with an aged domain that had some good features and content but they were not doing him much good in terms of bringing in business and new members. We started by meeting with the client and determining what they were looking for in terms of design on the new site and what keywords they wanted us to emphasize in our search engine optimization.
We setup a Joomla! template and transferred all of the relevant content from the old site over. One neat feature on the old site was a virtual tour of the course with audio commentary by a couple of golf celebrities. We also setup a page that allowed members and non-members to book tee times, and a page to buy gift certificates.
We created a twitter, Facebook and YouTube page for the golf course and updated those pages regularly. We continued to do this for a year as the course hired us to manage their social media and advertising. We made the login credentials available to the client from the beginning and advised them on best practices in managing social media so they were able to do that without any problems on their own. We also produced some pretty snappy TV commercials for IVGC.
Dixie School house, inc
The Dixie Shool House website project was meaningful and rewarding in many ways. Nick Kunst of Kunst Bros Painting hired us to build this site from scratch. One aspect of this particular design that was challenging was re-creating the the school's old logo from a photograph and turning it into a vector. A very skilled artist that we work with spent a great deal of time tracing and tweaking to get it just right. Now the school's logo is preserved and can easily be printed on any supporting materials. We hired a local photographer to photograph the school and used these images as a core part of the design. If you live in or around Marin County or are planning on visiting we hope you will make plans to visit the Dixie School House, it really is a special place. Johnny Derango Cinematographer
Johnny Derango is a highly respected cinematographer in Los Angeles. We rebuilt his website with search optimization as a core strategy. JohnnyDerango.com now receives thousands of highly relevant visitors every month and this marketing tool has turned out to be quite successful for him. The website features videos of his work as a cinematographer and producer. We often do video production shoots with him and have enjoyed working along side Johnny for the past ten years. This website features a Joomla Content Management System with matching Wordpress Template and blog. Johnny actively blogs about film and cinema related news, events and promotion of his own productions and services. This website is a great example of our advanced website package.
Van Midde and son concrete
This site was first designed by a very talented computer programmer and a top San Francisco graphic design firm in the late 90's. VanMiddeConcrete.com is another great example of a dinosaur domain that had tons of trust and authority before we ever began working it. The original site, like so many older sites had a flash introwith an animated gif. This is not great for SEO and the site at the time didn't have much more than a dozen or so pages. Our strategy was to rebuild the site with an up to date template and expand on the amount of content in order to bring in more organic search visitors. This site has been very successful in generating meaningful leads for the client and we can do the same for you. This is another great example of an advanced website with search engine optimization.
Get Fit MArin, Body By X
Xavier McClinton of Body By X hired us to rebuild his website and produce television commercials for him. We took the old site bodybyxonline.com and forwarded it to a new domain we purchased as a local marketing strategy - the new domain is GetFitMarin.com and is a bit of an exact match domain for fitness related searches in the Marin County Area. We built this site with a content management system at the core with a matching wordpress theme and blog. We perform daily updates on this site as well as manage the pay per click campaign, organic seo, email marketing, television advertising and business marketing and consulting. We are exceptionally proud of Xavier and his wife and co-founder Nadia McClinton as they truly are following our lead in many ways with regards to taking their online business serious and creating meaningful and well thought out content to engage thier users. Every day this site enjoys a steady stream of growing traffic from organic searches to referrals from their contacts built over 20 years of experience as the premier personal trainer in Mairn County.
The Marin Builders Association
This job was a complete tear down and rebuild from an old clunky .asp web framework. Before getting involved the site had a few dozen visitors a day and now it has thousands a month. We built a custom directory template to provide a marketing tool for the 800+ members. The marinba.org website is a great example of what well thought out and strategized keyword research and organic SEO can do for a small local organization.
Their old website was no where to be found on the web in search and there was no benefit to members from the site. We transferred all the old content over to Joomla! CMS and started designing.
The biggest aspect of the redesign was creating a new directory of all members using a Joomla! directory component. We search engine optimized all of the category pages that sorted the businesses by types of services and gave members the opportunity to submit their logos and add content such as photos and descriptions of their business to their directory page. Each directory page has the contact information for the business as well as their location on Google maps and an estimate request form that will e-mail directly to the business.
We optimized all of the other pages on the site for search, setup an event calendar, added a rotating advertising widget and added the weekly bulletin to the home page along with the ability to read it in a digital magazine format. In addition to all of this, we setup a facebook and twitter page for the Marin Builders and updated those pages regularly as we worked on the site and handed over the login details for those social media sites to the owners when the site redesign was finished. We have stayed on as consultants for both content additions and social media updates for the site since it’s launch.
Logan Riese
Logan is one of the most dynamic Los Angeles designers around. The last version of his site was built in flash, we tore it down and rebuilt it in a CMS with the strategy of creating awareness around his designs by showing examples of the work he has done for celebrities. This website now receives a good stream of monthly searchers most of which are interested in finding out what jacket or bag or accesories various celebrities are wearing in film and tv. If you see a really cool leather jacket somewere in the media chances are pretty good it's a Logan Riese original.
Logan's custom made leather jackets and accessories are brilliantly made and have become very popular with Hollywood celebrities and fashion aficionados alike. Though Logan had a good clientele base he wanted to have a stronger web presence so he approached us.
We then implemented SEO into all of his pages and built a new online store for him through the thoroughly versatile system of Google checkout. Now Logan gets a great deal of business through his site and has an authoritative online presence that lets others in his industry know that he’s a professional in step with the times.
Mertel Carpets
Jeff Mertel first hired us to produce local tv commercials for him. His commercials did so well for him (and continue to) Jeff then hired us to rebuild his website. We perform monthly updates, service his email accounts and perform white hat search engine optimization for this well established Marin County business. This website receives a good amount of highly focused carpet and flooring related visitors a month. We are proud to be working with clients of this level of integrity and good name in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Kunst Bros. Painting
Kunst Brothers Painting has been the premier painting contractor in Marin County for years, but their web presence was short of perfect. With an old website that was not getting them any new business, they needed a redesign. We migrated all of the content from the old site and transferred it over to a Joomla! CMS template that well suited the company. We then search engine optimized each page for the keyword phrases based on our keyword research.
We added a sideshow to the homepage showing off some of the clients better work. We also created custom keyword rich articles for each of the most important painting services that the client offered. We also added a gallery of photos and put the Kelly Moore paint visualizer in a "wrapper" that contained it so it could be viewed on the site without navigating away. In addition to all of this we setup a custom contact and estimate request form. The client has told us many times how pleased they are with the site and have gotten a great deal of business as a result.
Axel Nelson Construction
We built a new website for Axel Nelson a Point Reyes Custom Home Contractor. This website serves as a portfolio peice showing his amazing work. Axel is by far our most fascinating client to date. He is incredibly talented and it was an absolute joy working with him. If you are in West Marin and are looking to have your home remodeled or have a custom home built Axel is the man to call.
