The Team:
Floyd has a ten year history of producing film and television. To date he has produced four features films, one of which starred Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr., and won numerous international film festival awards. Floyd has also produced many commercials, music videos and a half dozen or so television pilots for networks like MTV and others. Since early 2001 Floyd has closely followed the internet and has seen Google grow from a small startup to the giant it is today. After becoming frustrated with webmasters he had hired for his various startups he decided to dive in and learn all that he could. It was from this frustration with unprofessional, unreliable and sometimes unethical webmasters that grew a passion to learn and understand the world wide web and the software that powers it.
Floyd started his first business at 15, where he approached a local (Texas) Bar-B-Que restaurant and asked to provide them with free disposable placemats in exchange for printing advertisements on them. The owner agreed and his business was born. He sold ads to the local hat shop, hotels, boutiques and insurance agents. His entire family was running around town picking up artwork and checks.
It was that spark and positive feedback at such a young age that has led his lifelong passion to help small businesses succeed through effective marketing solutions. Jason is a web marketing strategist who specializes in search engine optimization, online copy writing, social media marketing and online advertising. Jason was born in San Francisco and is a lifetime Bay Area resident. Jason was admitted into the prestigious Engineering Academy at Sir Francis Drake High School, invited in as a sophomore, a year earlier than most students. There he was taught programming, AutoCAD drafting and robotic engineering. He graduated from UCLA in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. Studying the social sciences has given Jason a strong background in analytical thinking which is of significant benefit in web marketing.
Jason began working with Floyd and Marin Web Design in 2009 and is a founding team member. He is passionate about bringing creative and innovative web marketing solutions to his clients. Jason has a passion for writing and is most interested in creating high quality copy that will bring users to the sites he creates and keep them there. He is excited about the growing power of social media and its implications in web marketing and the wider world. As Director of Photography Johnny Derango strives to tell a story truthfully, with beauty, grace and technical prowess regardless of budgetary constraints. He takes great pride in making projects with small budgets and limited resources look on par with big studio or network projects.
Over the past 10 years Johnny has established himself as one of the most sought after young cinematographers in Los Angeles.
Having graduated from Columbia College Chicago, Johnny continues on as part of the great line of Cinematographers the school has produced which include ASC president Michael Goi as well as Academy award winners Mauro Fiore and Janusz Kaminski. Derango began his career by shooting the Tribeca film festival bound feature "In the Land of Merry Misfits" at only 23 years of age followed quickly by the Fox produced one hour police drama Hollywood Vice at 24. Since then Johnny has continued to photograph larger and larger projects with more well known casts including Rainn Wilson (The Office), Jane Kaczmarek (Malcom in the Middle), Kevin Dillon (Entourage) C. Thomas Howell (Southland)and Nelsan Ellis (True Blood) just to name a few.
Johnny has worked as a Director of Photography for Fox, Warner Brothers, Disney, Discovery Channel, TRU TV, and MTV amongst others. His work has been seen at film festivals including Tribeca, Chicago International, and HBO's American Black Film Festival. In May of 2011, Johnny began producing and shooting the feature film "Lost on Purpose" starring Jane Kaczmarek (Malcom in the Middle), C. Thomas Howell (Southland), James Lafferty (One Tree Hill) and Dale Dickey (Winter's Bone). Johnny continues to work as a Producer and Director of Photography splitting his time between Los Angeles and Chicago.
